Ocean Isle Beach is one of those FABULOUS North Carolina beaches that is near the really tourist-y towns, but not right in the middle of the party. It’s in close proximity to historic Wilmington, Sunset Beach, Myrtle and North Myrtle Beach, but it’s a getaway all on its own. The great thing is that if you are on the East Coast, this is most likely a “one-tank” destination for you!!!If you want things to do with your kids, there’s turtle watching, the Museum of Coastal Carolina, Old Baldy (the world’s OLDEST remaining lighthouse), Orton Plantation, The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher (THIS IS AWESOME!), the USS NC Battleship Memorial and the bright lights, water parks, music theaters, shopping, amusement park rides in Myrtle Beach!
