High Sierra Next Level Wheeled Tote Review

A few weeks ago, I reviewed the High Sierra Chip Messenger/Day Pack . And loved it. It worked well for me when I attended the Type-A-Mom conference in Asheville. It was the perfect bag and well-suited to have at a conference. Well, High Sierra also sent me a Next Level Business Wheeled Tote to review as well.

I hadn't been able to review it because I had not traveled anywhere that would warrant me using this wheeled tote. But a few weeks ago, I traveled to Cancun to meet up with my sister and knew that this was the opportunity to use the bag. I was taking along my computer to keep tabs on my blogs and emails. Nowadays, I can't be away from the computer for long periods of time. Yes, I am an addict. Sue me!

The Next Level bag is great. It worked out perfectly for my trip. Like the Chip bag, you immediately know that this bag is made to last a long time because of the super duper high quality. It has to be the best bag we own. The fabric is great. It is stain and water resistant and I learned that because I spilled water on it on the way back from Mexico and it just rolled off.

Besides having a strap to carry the bag, it also includes a handy dandy handle to use when lifting the bag. It has a rubberized grip. It also has a retractable handle to use when you need to roll the bag. The handle is sectioned or what they call a telescoping handle so it felt a little loosey goosey at first but after wheeling the bag in and around the Atlanta airport two times, I learned this baby is strong. I had no issues with at all. The flexibility in the handle actually made it easier to wheel around and up and down the escalator etc. This handle also has a zippered pouch as well.

I have never had such a great bag before. So for a long time while standing in the security line, I was using the strap instead of wheeling it. DOH! Then I realized, hello Carolyn, this baby has wheels. The wheels were great and I had no problem with them. The bag rolled easily. I also realized when I had the bag upright it still rolled and that surprised me. But it was great especially if you have to roll the bag an inch at a time because the security line is so slow!

I also loved how much space I had and all the pockets the bag has. It has a front pocket with three mesh pockets and a pen holder. It also has a removable key fob. This was great because I was able to store my cell phone, camera, flip camera, car keys, my chic buds and pens. I was also able to slip in a pair of furry socks so I could wear on the plane and some mints.

The middle pocket was big enough for the laptop. It has a padded pocket for protection. I was also able to slip in my notebook and folder with important papers. I also put my books in the 2 extra pockets.

The main compartment was large enough for me to put in all my other junk including the cheesy gossip magazines I bought at the airport. I also was able to put in my prescriptions, my phone charger, the computer battery and plug, some assorted snacks and my purse. Yes, my purse. I always carry a purse but hate having to carry it around along with the carry on bag. I love having a place to slip it in and this bag was able to handle that. In the end, I was also able to slip in my jacket as well. That's how big the compartment was. It also had some extra space for my hair brush and an extra flip camera for my sister (in the box). It was great.

At the hotel, I saw a zipper on the side and opened it and realized that it had a little mesh pocket that pulled out so you could slip in a water bottle!! It also has a cool little strap on the back that works to slip it over another bag and then you can wheel both bags without worrying that the Next Level bag will fall off.

If you want to check out the Next Level or any other of the High Sierra bags, please visit their website. They have bags for every occasion. If you need them for business or leisure, you will find it something at High Sierra. The suggested retail price for the Next Level is $300 and let me tell you that this bag is worth it. I truly believe that this bag will give me a few good years of usage and it will get usage! I really love this bag!

I want to thank High Sierra Sports Company for the opportunity to review these bags. They have been wonderful to work with. Please go check out their website and if you are in the market for some great luggage, consider buying High Sierra items.

Disclosure: As part of my review, I received a free Next Level bag from High Sierra to review. No other compensation was given and the opinions in this post are mine. They have not been influenced by the product given.
