CLOSED ~ Simply Asia Thai Kitchen Review and Giveaway

More and more I am receiving opportunities to review food products and I love it. As many of you know, I love food. Any type, all kinds, all the time! While I am on the Nutrisystem program and doing quite well, I still have to feed the hubster so that means cooking dinner. Sometimes I run out of ideas though so I like trying new recipes and foodstuffs to get out of the rut.

When I got the opportunity to review Thai Kitchen products by Simply Asia, I was all over that like white on rice! I never ever even tried to cook Thai food because I am intimidated by the complexity of the recipes I have seen. I was worried that this could turn out to be a dinner disaster but I gave it my best try.

I was sent the following products to make Red Curry Chicken: Fish sauce, Red Curry Paste, Coconut Milk and Jasmine Rice. Now to be honest, I am not huge on curry but hubby LOVES it. He loves green curry, red curry, any type of curry but I rarely make it. Every so often I make an Indian Curry Chicken but I have never tried Thai Curry.

I got my ingredients out and read the recipe and was surprised how easy it was. It couldn't have been simpler. I only had to provide the chicken and a little brown sugar. Now the recipe said to use chicken breasts but I went off recipe and used drumsticks. We aren't really white meat type of people so I decided to make the recipe with dark meat. I don't think it made a difference. Firstly, I cooked up the drumsticks. Then the recipe said to mix half of the coconut milk with 2 tablespoons of red curry paste. Once that was done, then I added the chicken. Next the recipe called for me to add the rest of the coconut milk, brown sugar and some fish sauce. Then I cooked up the rice and the meal was done. I tried it and it was delish but spicy!! But I wasn't the one who had to be satisfied. It was hubby.

I served him a plate of the Red Curry Chicken over the Jasmine Rice and his verdict? He loved it. I was so happy. He did find it a l little spicy but Thai food is generally very spicy and he didn't mind because he really thought it tasted good. He even suggested that the next time I make it, I try it with shrimp. He said he would definitely eat it again.

Personally, I am thrilled because I never really wanted to try and make Thai food because I thought it would be too time intensive and difficult. But Thai Kitchen made it easy as pie. Plus the food was authentic enough to pass hubby's taste test. YAY! I know have to go out and buy some of the Green Curry Paste and make hubby some Creen Curry Shrimp!!

Guess what? You have the opportunity to win some Thai Kitchen products so you can cook up a great Thai meal for your family. Thanks to Simply Asia Thai Kitchens, I have 5, yes 5 Thai Kitchen Cooking kits for 5 winners. The kits will include: 2 jars of red curry paste, 2 jars of green curry paste, 1 jar of roasted red chili paste, 1 bottle of fish sauce, a cookbook and a coupon for a free Thai Kitchen product of your choice. Oh I am so jealous because I would love to win one of these for myself!! You know the drill!!
