Well, as you guys know I am a HUGE sweepstakes, giveaway and contest nut not unlike yourselves!! Well, I finally got lucky and won a trip!!! YAY!!

I was the Twitter @iVillage Wanderlust Festival winner. I have not benn entering giveaways or anything lately but I decided to retweet this sweeps and won. It was one of those crazy things because I think I only tweeted once, maybe twice.

So I am off to Squaw Valley, CA!! WOO-HOO We get tickets to the Festival, lodging and airfare. YAY! It's nuts because we get back on Sunday are home Monday and then leave on Tuesday to head over to BlogHer 10 in NYC!!! I am very excited about that as well.

It's summertime and, at our house, that means fresh veggies and grilling out on the BBQ! During summer we grill out at least 3 or 4 times a week. When I got the opportunity to review Herman T's BBQ Sauce Mix, I was thrilled. I am always on the lookout for new products to try and we are BBQ sauce fiends in this household.

A little about Herman T’s BBQ Sauce Mix first: Herman's T's BBQ Sauce was created by Herman T Jones back in the 1950’s. Over the years, Herman T would share his sauce with anyone who would stop by the house. Flavored with the sweetness of honey and a touch of Smokey apple wood, this sauce became a huge hit. As time would go on, he finally passed his recipe on to his Grandson Brian, who then recreated the recipe for mass production. Now today, Chef Brian has turned his Grandfather famous sauce into Herman T’s BBQ Sauce Mix. While keeping all of the essential ingredients intact, this sauce mix is sure to make your mouth dance.
Herman T's BBQ sauce is a dry powder mix. All you need to do is add water and ketchup and heat it. That's it. It is so easy. I received 2 packages of of the sauce mix. One spicy and one mild. I tried the mild one because hubby doesn't like his BBQ too spicy. But I do!

It was so easy. I took 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of ketchup and a tablespoon of the mix. That was it. And in less than 5 minutes, I had fresh BBQ sauce. And it was really delicious. I have to admit, I wasn't sure how it would taste because I have never used a dry powder mix to make BBQ sauce but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sauce.

The sauce was more on the vinegary side as far as BBQ sauces go. I like that. Hubby likes his sauces sweeter but he really enjoyed this one. I made grilled chicken and basted it at the end of the cooking and then we poured the sauce on at the end, it was that good. We are picky about BBQ sauce so I was glad we both enjoyed it.

I would recommend this sauce to anyone. It also has less calories than the grocery store stuff. It is made with an all natural mix of powders that contain no MSG or other chemicals. Also one pouch will make up to 3/4 gallons of sauce. That is a lot of sauce for the price! And if you want to get crazy, you can doctor it up. The next time I use Herman T's, instead of the water, I am trying beer. I think it will have a really good taste. I also used the BBQ powder as a dry rub on the chicken before I grilled it. Overall, Herman T's is some finger licking good stuff! I can't wait to grill out again!!

I am taking this to my next trip to New York City and I know that I will feel so much better having it.

Fibers.com Review

I recently had the opportunity to review Fibers.com a website that specializes in creating personalized clothing. I also had the opportunity to review an item from the store.

Fibers.com is an innovative website that gives site users the opportunity to design and order customized products, such as t-shirts, hoodies, and a variety of other clothing items. With our revolutionary technology, each and every design on the site is customizable, allowing you the freedom to go with your creative vision. From editing text and changing the image design and colors to resizing images and switching around elements, you can create a truly unique look for your desired product.

It is exactly that. It is also easy to navigate and create your own design. I had no problem uploading the image I wanted. My only issue was choosing the style of clothing I wanted. They have everything. They have custom T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, I Heart shirts, pants, vintage T-shirts and so much more. After looking around the site, I decided on a ringer tee with pink trimming. Since I had decided to design my tee with the button from my personal blog, Carolyn in Carolina, I thought the pink trim would look cute.

It took minutes to design. You can add your own image, choose from stock clip art, change fonts, change colors and other cool stuff. Delivery was fast. When I got my t-shirt, I loved it. The fabric is really nice. It's not a cheapy tee at all. It is soft and looks good. Now I can proudly tout my blog!!!! I think I might need another shirt for this blog as well.

You can also choose from quite a few designs they have on the site. I saw this Costa Rica design and I think I am going to buy it. I know my sister would love one as well. This is a design that is already set up so all I have to do is pick the style of t-shirt or sweatshirt I want and place an order.

Overall, I am very happy with my new Carolyn in Carolina t-shirt. I cannot tell you how easy it was to create. Fibers.com makes it simple. The prices are really reasonable for custom made items. I have bought custom t-shirts elsewhere for double the price and I can't tell the difference. If you are looking for personalized gifts, Fibers.com is the place for you!

CLOSED ~ SleepJoy Mattress Topper Review and Pillow Giveaway

When I told hubby that I got an offer to review a SleepJoy mattress topper, he was actually not receptive to the idea. I think it was because we already had one of those tempurpedic ones on the bed and he was happy with it. I wasn't. The topper we had was not very good.

We have a King size bed and we ordered a King size topper and it never fit correctly. So that meant it was a little off on the sides and guess who got the short end of the topper? Yes, me. So I told him that we would try this new SleepJoy topper and if we didn't like it, we would go back to the old one. Well the old one is on its way out!!

We received the King Size 3" VitaTop mattress topper. It was in a pretty tiny box when it came and I thought no way is this a King size mattress topper but once we unpacked it, it rolled out perfectly and, better yet, fit perfectly on our bed. It was cushy. It had a subtle green tea smell to it, which was quite nice. The topper also has ventilation holes for air circulation.

The SleepJoy mattress toppers are made from ViscoFresh enhanced memory foam. This means SleepJoy's toppers offer greater air circulation so you don't overheat at night. They are naturally free of chemical odors. They also offer superior comfort & support. And SleepJoy uses renewable, plant based ingredients. The mattress toppers have memory foam so it hugs your body and relieves pressure. ViscoFresh is apparently 5 times more breathable than ordinary memory foam mattresses.

To our surprise, the Vita Top came with a 300 thread count cotton cover filled with "down like gel fiber" as well. It was like a special added treat. So we laid out the topper on the bed and before I put on the cover, I hopped on the bed and tried it out. It was comfortable and soft. It felt pretty darn good. Hubby felt it and was a little skeptical. But he said he would have an open mind about it. I have to say that I also loved the cover. It fit perfectly over the topper and the best thing is that it is made for the deep mattresses. We had no problem getting it to fit around the topper and our own giant mattress.

That night when we went to bed, I could tell hubby was still a little iffy on the whole new mattress topper adventure. But the next morning he got up and said that it was very comfortable. Personally, I loved it. It was plush and cozy. It was like sleeping in a little cocoon of softness. A few days later, I saw hubby taking our old mattress topper outside to garage and I knew he was hooked. He said that this is the most comfortable thing he has slept on. He loves it as do I. I think he loves it even more than I do!!

I can't tell you how soft it it. The mattress topper itself conforms to the shape of your body and the cover gives it that extra added plushness. It also keeps us cool at night. Whereas, our old topper could get hot, we have had no such problems with the SleepJoy! It is fantastic. I have to say that this is one of my most favorite products I have ever had the pleasure of reviewing!!

I would totally recommend these products to anyone. My hubby would second that as well. I can tell you that we are sleeping better. And even our cat, Scout loves it! We find her on the bed all the time now. So if you are in the market for a new mattress topper or want to try one, go to SleepJoy first. The Vita Top runs from $199 to $349 depending on the size of your bed. SleepJoy also offers many other types of toppers depending on the firmness. Ours is at a medium firmness and it is perfect for the both of us. But they have softer or firmer toppers as well. They also offer some great pillows and covers.

Pro-Flowers Review

I recently had the opportunity to review a Birthday Gift Basket from ProFlowers. My hubby's birthday is next month so I decided to get him an early birthday treat by reviewing the Ghirardelli Chocolate Basket. He, like me, is a chocolate fiend. I also snagged the Hot Chocolate and Coffee to take to work. Sometimes, I just need an afternoon pick me up. Hubby loved his basket. He shared a few chocolate squares with me but the rest is going to his office so he can have a little afternoon pick me up as well.

Looking around the site, I already chose a few baskets to give away to my mother-in-law, sister and my good friend. I know my sister would love a Spa Getaway Basket for her birthday. And my MIL would love the Wine Country Picnic Basket . She might be getting this for her birthday or Christmas!

Boy was my hubby happy when I told him that I was going to receive more Dove MEN+CARE products for him to review. He reviewed some products a few months back and really liked them. So it was great he was going to get more to review.

We received a bottle of the Body & Face Shower Gel, the Body & Face Bar and the Active Clean Shower Tool that was created to give an even better body wash experience by delivering maximum lather and maximum scrub in each shower. He loved the Body & Face bar and was glad to have another. He liked the feel and smell of it. Last time he tried it, he mentioned his skin felt smoother. He had been using the Body & Face Shower Gel since he ran out of the bar soap and really liked it as well.

He was a little reluctant to try the Active Clean Shower Tool. He said he didn't loofah but after a little nagging he tried it. He actually liked it since it was easier to use the shower gel with the tool.

Once again, Dove has created a great product. I have yet to find a Dove product I don't like. And I think it's fantastic that they are now focusing on the men. CLOSED ~ Culturelle Review and I *heart* Bacteria t-shirt Giveaway

A few years ago, I was told by my doctor that I should take probiotics. Basically, he was telling me to take bacteria. There is good bacteria and bad bacteria and, apparently, I had lots of bad bacteria. So I tried probiotics and they really helped. I stopped using them and started eating plain yogurt to keep the good bacteria in. But sometimes, I need to take some more. Now I can't speak to that but I can speak to the fact that probiotics have helped my digestive problems in the past. I have been taking Culturelle for a couple of weeks and while I don't notice a huge difference, I can tell that it has helped me some. Bloating is down and I feel that my acid reflux has been a lot better since I started taking Culturelle. That's just me. I am all about probiotics and Culturelle seems like it is doing a good job.

It's all about getting the ooky bacteria out and getting the good bacteria in! If you take probiotics now, this product might be one to check out and try. If you have never taken probiotics, you might want to ask your doctor if you have digestive problems. and don't forget to eat plain yogurt as well.
