Kraft Cracker Barrel Limited Edition Holiday Reserve Cheese Review

I recently had the opportunity to try the new Kraft Cracker Barrel Limited Edition Holiday Reserve Cheese. The Cracker Barrel Limited Edition Holiday Reserve Cheese is only available at leading grocery stores until January 1, 2011. So if you want to try, go find it now before it's gone.

I am all about cheese. I could eat cheese everyday of my life and never get tired. During the holidays, I buy a lot of different types of cheese to serve to my guests. It is the perfect thing to serve because you can serve it with fruit, veggies, crackers, bread and sweets. I always have a cheese plate on my holiday table. In fact, anytime I have a party or event, you will find cheese.

Also during the holidays, I like to keep snacks ready for my husband because while I am cooking and busy, he gets hungry but I don't want to cook anymore than I have to. So I do the next best thing, make him a cheese platter. I give him some cheese, meats, crackers, fruit and let him snack on that. He loves it. It is filling enough to keep him happy until dinner yet not so bad for him. Let me tell you, for me, there is nothing like some cheese and crackers or cheese and bread with a cup of coffee or tea on a cold afternoon.

When I was asked to review the Cracker Barrel cheese, I wasn't sure if I would like it because I am a little bit of a cheese snob. What I found was that this cheese was really quite good. I love cheddar cheese and this particular special edition cheese is aged white cheddar. It was sharp and had a nutty undertone. It was easy to cut and grate.

I really liked and so did my husband. We had gone shopping this past weekend and when we got home, I fixed us up a little cheese plate for a snack. It was the perfect amount of food for the afternoon and kept us happy until dinner.

Would I buy this cheese again? Yes. It is really tasty and the price is right. The suggested retail price is $3.99 - $4.99 for a 10 oz. package as compared to a specialty cheese that can cost upwards of $8.49 per 10 oz. I would probably buy some more expensive cheese then serve it alongside the Cracker Barrel cheese. I think my guests would love it.

The next day, I grated some up and used it to make some mac and cheese. It worked perfectly because it made the perfect cheese sauce. Given more cheese and more time, I bet I could come up with more uses for this tasty cheese.

Remember, this is a limited edition cheese so make sure to go look for it now!

  1. Cracker Barrel has the best cheese. I have to look for this the next time I'm out. Hubby is a huge fan, and it is our cheese of choice for meat/cheese platters.
