CLOSED ~ National Association of Insurance Commissioners $50 Gift Card Giveaway Insurance

Every summer, we take a road trip. This is probably the first summer we haven't because our busy schedules. But with the economy the way it is sometimes the only trips most people can take are road trips especially if they have children.

We love our road trips. And sometimes, we just take short weekend trips and drive down to South Carolina, Georgia or to Tennessee. Road trips can be fun and easier than traveling by plane.

This summer, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)wants to make sure people planning a road trip have some useful information. According to the NAIC, eight out of 10 Americans said they were planning to take a vacation this summer.

One piece of information the NAIC wants you to know is that many travelers are unaware of what their car insurance policy actually covers. According to an April 2011 NAIC survey, 40 percent of Americans incorrectly believe their car insurance will cover the replacement of personal items stolen from their vehicle and one-third of Americans believe their auto insurance automatically covers a rental car.

To help you know the facts, NAIC has five tips for a stress-free summer road trip:

* Confirm your car insurance is active and premiums are up-to-date. Have a current copy of your insurance card in the car.

* Check to see if your policy includes roadside assistance. You can be covered for towing, fuel delivery, lockout service, jump-starts and more.

* If renting a car, check if your current policy includes coverage, and verify limitations with your agent. Some credit cards offer rental coverage, so check with your credit card company to determine if that is an option.

* If rental car coverage is not included in your policy, consider adding an insurance rider for a small fee or purchasing coverage from the rental car company. Make sure you don’t duplicate benefits from your existing auto, health or home insurance policy.

* Verify your homeowners or renters insurance covers the theft of personal items from a car, especially if you are planning to carry expensive items in your car such as golf clubs, video or digital cameras or laptops.

These are fantastic tips to make your summer road trips safe and fun! For more information, head on over to Auto.InsureUonline.org.

The NAIC also wants to help you on your road trip so they are offering one of my readers a $50 gas card to get you on the road! YAY! Enter to win.

CLOSED ~ Red Baron Pizza Packs Review and Giveaway ~ 5 Winners!!!

Okay, who doesn't love pizza? I know there might be someone out there who doesn't but I love it. We eat pizza at least 2-3 times a month. It is our favorite quickie go to meal.

Red Baron has teamed up with Howie Mandel for a new online video series to pit delivery pizza and Red Baron head-to-head to show Americans which pan pizza option is the “Real Deal” when it comes to quality, taste and convenience.

The best part is that I got to review Red Baron Pizza. I love having products in my freezer that I can pull out and make quickly. I work and sometimes I come home late so it is always nice to be able to make a meal in under 30 minutes that will taste good.

That happened with my Red Baron Pizza. I was running late and came home and realized I had not planned for anything. I took out my Red Baron Pizza, popped it on my pizza stone and put it in the oven. Hubby usually comes home about 20 minutes after I did. So by the time I had fed the cats and he came home, the pizza was ready.

It was delish! For a frozen pizza, Red Baron really does taste good. It was just as good as the pizza we get delivered. And let me tell you, it is so much more inexpensive! I got the thin crust and it was crunchy. The sauce was tasty and the cheese was cheesy. The only thing I wanted was more pepperoni on the pizza.

I also have a wonderful giveaway courtesy of Red Baron. Five (5), yes five readers will win the following prize pack. The Red Baron pizza night prize packs include:

*Red Baron pizza cutter
*Red Baron plates and napkins
*Red Baron oven mitt and
*Red Baron pizza knife
* please note, no coupon is included

What a great prize pack and there will be FIVE winners! WOO!!! You all know the drill. So enter to win!

Closed ~ Mighty Leaf Tea Review and Giveaway! Ends 8/3

My name is Carolyn and I am a tea addict. Yes, I love tea! Whether hot or iced, it is always in my pantry. A hot cup of tea on a cold winter day is something I love. In summer, I crave iced tea everyday!

I have been drinking a lot tea this summer because it has been so hot. I usually drink flavored hot tea but I never experimented with flavored iced tea. I find though when I go to a restaurant and they have flavored iced tea, I always like it.

That is why I was very excited when I was able to review Mighty Leaf Tea Iced Teas. These teas feature hand-blended, whole leaf tea leaves in a darling biodegradable bag. The tea is easy to make. Just add hot water and in about five minutes you have a freshly brewed pitcher of tea to enjoy on a hot summer day.

The flavors include:

* Sunburst Green Iced Tea: A cool and vibrant fresh brewed iced green tea, it delivers the crisp taste of sun ripened oranges and sweet citrus that brighten mountain-grown Chinese green tea leaves. The lowest in caffeine among all four flavors.
* Ginger Peach Iced Tea: A blissful and lightly sweet fresh-brewed iced tea, this black leaf tea is infused with sun-swelled peaches and delicate ginger.
* Calypso Mango Iced Tea: A sweet and cooling fresh-brewed iced tea with an indulging blend of luscious mango and tropical fruit that drench South Indian black tea leaves.
* Organic Black Iced Tea: Made of refreshingly rich and smooth South Indian organic black tea leaves that are hand-picked on the dewy slopes of the Nilgiri mountains, these vibrant organic tea leaves unleash a fresh iced tea with dark amber hue.

I loved these teas. My favorite was definitely the Calypso Mango Tea. It was delicious and fruity. I took my glass out to our front porch and enjoyed the view of the Tuckaseegee River. It was wonderful!

I love green tea and drink it all the time but I never thought about making Iced Green Tea and the Mighty Tea Sunburst Green Tea was delicious as well. The other two teas were good. I am not a big fan of Black tea but it was tasty. I also liked the Ginger Peach tea. It was spicy and fresh.

I also received some smaller tea bags. The flavors were great. Among them Green Tea Tropical (with guava), Chamomile Citrus and Orange Dulce. The Orange Dulce was terrific!

What I also loved about these teas is that you can drink them as is or add some punch to them by adding fresh fruit or maybe some spirits. I am going to use the Calypso Mango tea to make a tropical sangria for a party I am having in a few weeks. Yummy!

I give these teas a thumbs up. I love loose leaf tea but it is always such a hassle to try and brew them but because these come in their own little eco-friendly bags, it is so easy. You can try these teas by going to the site and buying some. Use the discount code: SUMMERTEA15 for 15% off all loose teas and tea bags. Check out the site because they have some really awesome merchandise like cups, infusers, pitchers and gifts for all tea lovers!

For a chance to win a box of all four (4) flavors of the loose leaf teas, I reviewed, all you have to do is enter this giveaway! How easy is that? YAY!

CLOSED ~ Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit Review and Giveaway! Ends 7/29

I am not a morning person but have had to become one because of work. I usually get up, get ready, have a cup of coffee, check my emails, Twitter and Facebook and by that time I have to run out the door. I have a 45 minute drive to work so I leave pretty early.

Suffice it to say, I rarely eat breakfast. I am not alone. Hubby rarely eats breakfast and most of my co-workers skip breakfast as well. I like breakfast. I want something in the morning but unless I can grab a piece a fruit or a protein shake, I am out of luck and have to wait until lunch to eat.

Oatmeal is one of my favorite things to eat in the morning. But even the quickie 2 minute oatmeal is a hassle to make. Plus, it always leaves me with a dirty pan that unless you clean right away get ooky and the oatmeal sticks like concrete.

But my breakfast time might just be saved with a new product I was able to review: Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit cups.

Here’s the product information:

Just launched in April, it is the perfect choice for anyone who has trouble finding time for breakfast in the morning. In less time than it takes to make a cup of coffee, heat the six-ounce microwaveable cup – no milk or water necessary – in the microwave for 45 seconds. Seneca's Oatmeal & Fruit has no trans fats or cholesterol, and is a great source of Vitamin C.

Currently available in Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach, Seneca Fa
rms Oatmeal & Fruit can be found nationally at Walmart and at a wide variety of retail grocery stores. Seneca Farms plans to expand its flavors later this year with Oatmeal & Fruit Cranberry Apple, and Oatmeal – Maple & Brown Sugar.

I got up one morning and tried Seneca Farms Oatmeal and Fruit. I tried the Vanilla Peach. I wasn't sure what to expect but I took the little cup, placed it on the microwave and set it for 45 seconds. When it came out it was warm. I could see the chunks of peach in the oatmeal.

The oatmeal was very tasty. The peach chunks were a little tart and that contrasted well with the vanilla flavor. The Apple Cinnamon oatmeal was my favorite. It also had chinks of fruit. The apples were a little tart and, again, they went well with the cinnamon oatmeal. They were not overly sweet at all. And it was a great way to start the day.

The other day I took one to work because I had to leave really early. It was easy to make and I was able to have it at my desk. No mess, no fuss. I cannot wait for the new flavors to come out because this is a product I would definitely stock in my pantry especially during the winter. What better way to start a cold winter day then with a little bowl of hot oatmeal and fruit!!

Do you want to try Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit? Then enter! One reader will win a 2-pack of each flavor of Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit! Yummo. You know the drill, my friends.

Tell me, do you skip breakfast? Fess up!

CLOSED ~ Breyers Ice Cream Review and Giveaway! 5 Winners! Ends 7/29

Holy cow, it's National Ice Cream!! Now that is a celebration I can get into. To celebrate National Ice Cream month, Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle and REESE’S have some new flavors!

This is one review that I didn't even have to think one second about. Of course, after I accepted it I realized that I will probably gain 5 to 10 pounds but oh well. For the past week I have been reviewing the following flavors:

Breyers Blasts! OREO Chocolate Cookies & Cream
Breyers Blasts! Mrs. Fields Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Breyers Blasts! Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough
Breyers Blasts! Chips Ahoy! Chocolate Chip Cookie
Breyers Blasts! Whoppers
Breyers Blasts! Waffle Cone with HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Chips
Klondike What the Fudge? Brownie Sandwich
Popsicle Jolly Rancher Awesome Twosome ice pops
REESE’S Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cup

It was a hard job, my friends. But someone has to do it. My hubby also joined in the review and he was in sugar heaven! So what did I think?

First of all, it is hard not to like ice cream. Period. And I loved this ice cream. I have to say there were a few flavors that I found a little too sweet. The Breyers Blasts! Whoopers was good but the Whoppers were too sweet for me I also found the Breyers Blasts! Chips Ahoy! Chocolate Chip Cookie too sweet but it was so delicious.

I loved the Awesome Twosome Popsicles. I love Popsicles because they are a nice sweet treat that you don't feel guilty eating. These are always my go to treats when I am trying to slim down.

We loved the Breyers Blasts! OREO Chocolate Cookies & Cream (this was so good), the Breyers Blasts! Mrs. Fields Chocolate Fudge Brownie, the Breyers Blasts! Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough, the Breyers Blasts! Waffle Cone with HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Chips and the Klondike What the Fudge? Brownie Sandwich. The Klondike Brownie sandwich is so good because it has a brownie right inside.

Our all time favorite: REESE’S Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cup. If you have not tried this ice cream, you have to do it today! It is like this huge Reese's cup. The peanut butter ice cream is amazing. It is covered in chocolate. It is the best thing ever. Hubby agreed. We fought it out for the last Reese's bar. He won. Boo!

Overall, the flavors I tried I liked. Some more than others but I would definitely buy these again. Now the only problem is that I have to go exercise or not eat for a week because I ate so much ice cream. But it was well worth it. My hips hate me but oh well.

I have 5 coupons to give away to 5 readers. Just enter and win!! You will thank me but your hips won't! ;0)

Closed ~ Neutrogena® Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes Review and Giveaway! Ends 7/25

I am a natural woman. Meaning, that I wear little or no makeup in my real life. I like wearing some mascara, lip gloss and sometimes, especially during the winter, I use a little bronzer.

I have never worn a lot of makeup although maybe I should because it does make me look better. But it also makes my skin ooky and it is always a pain to take off. Now, when I travel for business or to blog conferences, I do slap on a little more makeup than usual especially if I am going to a party.

Most times though, I can't pack my bottle of makeup remover because of the airline rules. I get stuck using soap and water which is fine but sometimes you just need something a little better to take off the makeup.

So when I was given the opportunity to review the new Neutrogena® Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, I almost said no because I rarely wear makeup but then thought better of it because if these worked, I could travel with them.

There are 3 types of Neutrogena towelettes. Here is a little info about all three from Neutrogena:

Traveling with heavy bottles can be cumbersome, so we recommend bringing along, Neutrogena® Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes on your next vacation for convenient cleansing and packing! Convenient and gentle, not only do these makeup removing cleansing towelettes offer superior makeup removal with patent pending technology, but they are also gentle enough for sensitive eyes and safe for contact lens wearers.

Vacationing in dry, sunny locations can strip skin of its natural moisture—we recommend Neutrogena® Hydrating Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to cleanse and hydrate skin in just one easy wipe of the face. A unique blend of skin-soothing cucumber and aloe extracts in addition to emollients and glycerin leave skin feeling soft and supple while reaching deep into pores to gently clear away dirt, oil, pollutants and makeup.

After a long day of sightseeing, unwind and calm the senses while cle
ansing skin and removing impurities. We recommend Neutrogena® Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to provide fast-acting, double-duty benefits—wiping away dirt while helping to calm and relax after a busy day with soothing lavender and chamomile extracts.

I received a packet of the Hydrating and Night Calming Towelettes. Since I don't often wear a lot of makeup, I decided to toss some on and see if these babies really worked. I threw on some lip gloss, mascara, concealer under my eyes and bronzer. Once it was on, I grabbed a towelette to see if they would wipe it off.

They worked. One wipe and half of the makeup was off. I turned the towelette inside out and wiped the other side and took more off. I took at least 4 swipes to get everything off but I only used one towelette so I think that's pretty good.

I know these babies will be in my carry on when I travel to the BlogHer Conference next month. I know I will have to put on makeup and now don't have to worry I will look like a raccoon when I wake up in the morning.

The towelettes cost from $7 to $8 each. That is a great price for the quality of the product. The best part though is that the towelettes make my life easier and they are convenient to travel with.

Of course, I have a giveaway for you all. Two (2) people will win all three packs of the towelettes. YAY! You know the drill, enter to win!
