I don't have kids so I was pretty clueless about what is needed to fulfill their back to school needs. I remember when I was little (and that was decades ago) we would just have to bring some paper and maybe pens and pencils to school. I never remember having to bring wipes, paper towels, and so many other things.
I now work at a school and realize that students now have to buy and bring a whole bunch of supplies. I was actually quite surprised how much they are expected to bring. The problem is that not all the students at the school where I work can afford everything needed. So many of the teachers and staff actually buy supplies when the families can't provide them. This year, the school gave away bags of supplies to a lot of families.
This is where Bounty comes in. Bounty is currently sponsoring TeacherWishList.com, a site where teachers can sign up and create their classroom wish lists. Then parents, community members or just nice peeps can find those lists and see what the school and teachers need for their classrooms. I love it! This program came about after Bounty surveyed teachers and the results reported that teachers spend on average $462 of their money to buy supplies. Trust me, that's a lot of money for these teachers who should be making a lot more money!
Through the end of September, Bounty is fulfilling the wish list of ten teachers each week. Each teacher who creates a wish list is eligible to win, and for each school that has five teachers or more registered, that school will be entered for a chance at a $25,000 celebrity designed classroom makeover!
That is so awesome because $25K for a school could mean so much. Even fulfilling the wish list of a teacher can make a huge difference. I encouraged our teachers to sign up and some did. I am surprising a few with some of the items they need!
So head on over to the Teacher Wish List site and see if your kid's teachers are signed up and, if not, get them to sign up!!!
I want to thank Bounty for coming up with a great program as the Teacher Wish List and, hopefully, they will be able to grant more wishes to schools. And Bounty is offering up a $25 gift card. Sure, you can use it on yourself but wouldn't it be great to fulfill some wish lists?? To win the gift card, just follow the rules and enter!
Head on over to TeacherWishList.com and tell me if your school is signed up or not.
