Yum Yum Dishes Review and Giveaway!
It's a new year and I am on a journey to get healthy. This time I am going it alone instead of trying diets. I figure if I exercise and eat better, I should lose weight. Slowly, but at least doing it the right way.
When I received the opportunity to review Yum Yum Dishes and Bowls, I thought this was the perfect product for me right now.
The founder of Yum Yum Dishes actually created these to show kids what portions sizes are acceptable. I think it is a wonderful idea to start teaching kids about portion control. I also think it is always a good time to start teaching adults as well. I think we have gotten used to supersizing meals and that is not a good thing.
We have big plates at my house and we fill them up at dinner. I was a little worried that this smaller 9 inch Yum Yum Dish would not be enough when I have meals. What I love about the dish is that it also portions out your veggies, carbs and proteins. Basically half the plate is for veggies and the other half is for carbs and proteins. It doesn't get much simpler than that.
The little Yum Yum snack bowl is small but it is the perfect portion for a snack. I could fit 4 cookies. I could fit a handful of Fritos. I could have a scoop if ice cream. It also has a convenient plastic lid so you can take it anywhere.
The bowls and plates are really cute and good quality. Why this is a good start to losing weight is that it is easy to follow the portion sizing on the plate. The best thing is that you can eat anything you want as long as it fits on the plate. It is not brain surgery folks! And it is easy for me.
I took some pictures of our dinners. One picture is on our regular plate and one is on the Yum Yum Plate. The pictures aren't great but, trust me, I had about half as much steak and noodles as were on our regular plate. I ate my plateful and I was full. It was enough food. Usually I eat the full plate that my husband had. I thought for sure it would not be enough food but I was satisfied.
I am going to continue using my Yum Yum Plate and bowl as I try to lose weight this year. I figure if I can stick to the portion control, exercise and watch what I eat, I might lose weight without depriving myself of the yummy food I like.
Yum Yum Dishes are available in pre-boxed sets of four fun colors: cherry red, sunshine yellow, pistachio green and bold blue. The set of four 4oz Yum Yum bowls are available on their website for $24.00 in addition to their Set of 9 9" plates are available for $29.00
Thanks to the wonderful peeps at Yum Yum, I have a set of dishes and bowls for one lucky reader!! YAY!
