Band-Aids were the only brand my mami bought because there was no other brand that could withstand the terror that was little Caro. Sure, she tried other brands but they would come off almost as soon as they were put on because the minute my cuts and scrapes were cleaned and bandaged, I was out there getting into trouble again.
I wore my Band-Aids proudly. I also would get into trouble because I used to love wearing Band-Aids on all my fingers when I cut one. My mami would clean my cuts and put a Band-Aid. Once she would shoo me off, I would sneak back into the bathroom and proceed to add Band-Aids to all my fingers.
I thought it looked cool. But my mami didn't. Suffice it to say, I always got in trouble when I did that!
As I grew older, it never occurred to me to even consider buying another brand of bandages. My hubby, however, has bought other brands because they are more inexpensive. I didn't like them and I had to stop that immediately. He has never bought another brand ever since.
It's funny that brand loyalty starts when we are very young. I know that's where my love of Band-Aid came from. I love all the different type of Band-Aid they offer. When I was little there was basically only one type of Band-Aid. But now I can get tiny one, huge ones, fabric ones or plastic ones. I especially love the specialty Band-aids because they when I have a cut in an awkward spot, it actually fits.
I have to confess that every so often I even buy the Band-Aids with cartoon characters because I never had them as a kid. Don't judge me, people, don't judge. Why shouldn't us adults have a little fun every once in a while.
