"Open the Door. Take the Tour" during National Boys & Girls Club Week!!

I realized a few years ago how important the Boys & Girls Club (BGCA) is for kids. When I lived in Florida, I worked at a homeless shelter. Our shelter had some activities for the kids but it was the Boys & Girls Club that helped a lot of the children in our programs.

The Boys & Girls Club has so many different programs that help youth. The BGCA offers education and career programs that help kids find opportunities in career exploration and educational enhancement. They also offer character and leadership programs that teach kids to acquire leadership skills and teach them to become responsible citizens. There are also health & life skills classes, arts programs, sports and fitness activities and so much more!

The BGCA has opened its doors to serve millions of kids across the nation and on military installations overseas by offering a place for them to grow and have a great future.

National Boys & Girls Club Week is April 7th to April 13th. During this week, the BGCA celebrates the invaluable service that Clubs bring to communities with the "Open the Door. Take a Tour." week. Clubs will plan fun daily activities for Club members, their parents and the entire neighborhood to enjoy. These events include health fairs, teen events, carnivals and  more.

During the week, club members will be assisting others as well. The club's service and leadership
groups like the Torch and Keystone Clubs for tween and teen Club members will be volunteering their time in the communities where the various clubs are located. That is so wonderful. I love that the club members who have been helped are now helping others as well.

Head over to the Boys and Girls Club Open the Door Week Website for more information. Here is a schedule of the Open the Door. Take the Tour Program:
*  April 8  - Open the door to education.
*  April 9  - Open the door to technology.
* April 10 - Open the door to character and citizenship.
* April 11 - Open the door to healthy lifestyles.
* April 12 - Open the door. Take the tour.
If you can't make it to a BGCA location in person, you can take a virtual visit. If you can make it in person, you can visit the BGCA website and find the location near you. While you are there, look around at all the good work the BGCA does for the local communities.

They do good work. They helped so many of the kids in our shelter and help so many kids nationwide. If you have time next week, you should go check out one of their locations and see for yourself!

You can find the BGCA on Facebook and Twitter.

“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
