After a few weeks with my new Nokia Lumia, I discovered a few things I really like about it. I wish all these features were on my Droid 4 because they are almost enough to make me change my mind about the Droid.
Windows 8
I love having Windows 8 at the tip of my fingertips wherever I go. When I first tried Windows 8, I was not a
fan but then I realized it was great. Having Windows 8 on my phone is a plus. There are so many features and apps that I love and having them on the go is wonderful.
The Carl Zeiss Camera
The best feature on the Nokia Lumia phone is by far the camera. The pictures that it takes are beautiful and clear. Plus, you can manipulate the photos on the phone without having to go to Instagram or another photo editing program. Cinemagraph is great. You can bring your pictures to life with this feature. And the Creative Suite is the best thing because you can edit your photos on the phone without having to go to a another app.
Wireless Charger
I love this feature. I am forever and day losing my phone charger. With the wireless charger, I do not have to
Here City Lens, Here Maps and Here Drive
Love! Have the City at your fingertips! With the Here City Lens, you can find restaurants, shops and anything else. You can choose the regular map view or actually have a landscape shot of where you are. You
can take a picture with the Place Tag lens, and the Lumia will grab thee image and then show you the Points of Interest that are around the photo area. It's pretty cool. The rest of the Here apps are great too.
Here Maps are easy to navigate and so is the Here Drive. For someone who gets lost going to the mailbox, these apps are great. I liked it better than Google Maps which I have on my Droid right now.
The size and feel of Nokia Lumia
My Droid is pretty heavy and thick. he new Lumia is thin and light. I love the feel of the phone in my hand. I love the size of the phone. It slips into my pocket. It fits even in my smallest clutch purse. The curve on the back makes it easier to hold when calling or using apps. And although it is skinny, it feels sturdy. It feels good. I am not sure if that makes sense but it is definitely less bulky than my Droid 4.
I have to say though that this is a great phone but it lacks the one thing I really need: a keyboard. The only reason I opted for a Droid 4 was because of the keyboard. I cannot for the life of me type on the touch screen. Because of that, I am not sure I can ever give up my Droid for another phone. This one comes close though.
