Celebrate NO KID HUNGRY Month!

The other day I received an email about No Kid Hungry Month. I usually do not post random stuff but this email was that important and it is a topic that I really believe in. Ever since I worked at a homeless shelter, I have been involved in some way or another in feeding people. It is usually through donations but if I have a chance, I also volunteer.

It is always amazing to me that in this country there are children and adults who go to bed hungry. It is a crime. We really need to do something about it. . One way to help this problem is to get involved. One great program is the No Kid Hungry Campaign. I was surprised to see this program has been going on for 10 years. And in those years, the program has helped bring tens of millions of meals to kids in need across the country. That is a lot of meals!!

This is how you can help. First head over to the website and check it out. You can get more information than I am giving you. You can make a donation. You can volunteer. You can become an advocate. Learn and try to understand why feeding children is so important.

This month is No Kid Hungry month and you can even do more than usual.

* Dine out for No Kid Hungry. All you have to do is eat out at a participating No Kid Hungry restaurant, support their No Kid Hungry promotion and your dinner will help raise funds towards innovative school breakfast, summer meals and afterschool snack programs.

* Donate to No Kid Hungry. You can make a difference this month even if you aren't able to dine out. Every dollar you give can help provide a hungry child with up to 10 healthy meals — so every dollar counts!

Just go to the site and see the restaurants participating in this important program. Or just make a donation. I cannot tell you how just a little money will help. It doesn't matter if it's $10,000 or $10. Every little bit makes a difference!!

Disclosure: I just wanted to write about his because I believe in this organization. All opinions are mine.
