A few years ago, we were fortunate enough to visit Puerto Rico. It was beautiful. It had everything we wanted and more. Beautiful beaches, historic sites, fantastic food, sun and fun.
Must do's in Puerto Rico include visiting El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque was a highlight on our trip. It was beautiful. We drove through EL Yunque and stopped along the road to hike up some trails that were available. We saw various types of foliage. We also saw several waterfalls and some amazing sights.
Old San Juan was a highlight as well. We started our day in Old San Juan at the Castillo de San Cristobal. This is an historic site that is worth the trip. The Fort was great. It was also huge. Old San Juan was amazing a well. The architecture and colonial feel of the city was something to take in. There was great shopping. If you want fancy items, you will find them. If you want local item, you will find plenty. There are restaurants for any taste. We found Japanese food, Puerto Rican food and even Indian food. One day we drove to Guavate to find a whole roast pig to feast on. We had to drive about an hour from our resort but it was well worth. If you go to Puerto Rico, taking a trip on The Pork Highway is a must do.
We stayed at a resort on the beach. The beaches of Puerto Rico are beautiful. The water was clear and warm and when we were not sightseeing, we were relaxing by the pool or the beach drinking plenty of the delicious Puerto Rican Rum.
