Citi is excited to continue supporting Team USA during the 2014 and 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Citi’s mission has been to enable progress and support clients on their journey from ambition to achievement. By supporting the athletes of Team USA on their journey, Citi affirms this commitment and complements the USOC’s mission of supporting U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence.
Because Team USA relies on private funds to follow their Olympic and Paralympic dreams, Citi believes it’s important to show our support. That’s why in addition to being a Team USA sponsor, Citi has committed $500K to the U.S. Olympic Committee to help support our nation’s athletes through the Citi Every Step of the Way program. First introduced for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this initiative helps future athletes reach their full potential through U.S. Olympic, Paralympic and Community Programs that inspired Team Citi on their journey. Together, we can nurture the next generation of U.S. athletes on their road from ambition to achievement.
I appreciate when these Olympians take time from their busy training schedules and get involved in the community. I believe they are great role models for kids. Usually these Olympians have worked so hard to make it where they are today. I think when kids see this, they can believe that they can also achieve what the Olympians have done as well. This will give the kids self esteem and confidence.
Check out this great video that explains the Every step of the Way Program.
Like these Olympians, you can help our future Olympians and make a difference in the life of these kids. So Check out the Citi Every Step of the Way Program page and see how you can help. Just one click will help many!!
* Citi donated the $500,000 to the USOC. It is not donating the funds to the sports programs directly. Instead, at the conclusion of the Every Step of the Way program, the USOC will distribute the funds to the sports programs.
* Consumers can’t award funds directly, rather they are “helping” to award the funds.
* Every sports program has a fundraising goal. Once that goal is met, consumers will not be able to help allocate funds to that program through Citi.com.
* Consumers who are ThankYou® members can redeem their own ThankYou Points for a donation to the sports program of their choice. Any such donation would be in addition to the funds provided by Citi through the Every Step of the Way program.
