If you are going to enter, do it now because the deadline for submission is March 12. And the best part, you can submit up to 3 recipes!

I want to share my 5 ingredient recipe using Simply Potatoes. I always have at least 2 bags of Simply Potatoes in my refrigerator. they are easy to use and very tasty. When I am in a rush and need a quick side dish, out come the Simply Potatoes. Making a delicious dish with only 5 ingredients is tough though. But I did get a little creative.

The 5 ingredients I am using are Simply Potatoes Diced Potatoes with Onions, turkey sausage, oil and sauerkraut and an apple. Believe it or not, I did not use salt or pepper in this recipe and it worked. I am making a quick and delish one pot meal. I love German food and although this is definitely not close to German, it has the same flavor notes you would find in a dish. It will also be a hearty meal for a cold night.

This is how I made 5 ingredient meal:

I fried the Simply Potatoes Diced Potatoes with onion with a some olive oil.

After the potatoes were browned, I added some diced Turkey Kielbasa Sausage. After the sausage was browned I added some of the diced apple so the apple flavor would permeate the potatoes and sausage.

I then added a can of crispy sauerkraut. I let the mixture cook together. Before serving, I added more diced apple so there would be raw and crispy pieces of apple.

What can I say? It was actually quite good. This is a totally willy-nilly recipe but I knew it would be good. It was also easy to make. It took less than 30 minutes. I also did not miss the salt. The sausage already has some salt and the sauerkraut adds an extra layer of flavor.

This is why I love having Simply Potatoes around. They are always fresh and never frozen. That makes them more delicious. They make a quick and easy entree or side dish. And if it is quick and easy, I am a happy camper! Plus, Simply Potatoes are always delicious.

So remember, if you have a delicious 5 ingredient recipe, go enter the Simply Potatoes 5 Ingredient Fix Recipe Contest!

  4. I have used these potatoes and added smoked sausage and onions, never thought of sauerkraut or apple but it turned out good and I also had green peppers in mine. I want to try with the sauerkraut
