My family's favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
We are a very untraditional family, and we don't really have any meal traditions. I do, however, have a favorite meal: Eggplant Parmesan, with lots of melty mozzarella cheese and a side of garlic bread. So good.

ReplyDeleteOur tradition is to have at least five nights of sit down together dinners. In this fast paced world so many families do not make the time for this or have distractions while they eat.As a single mom of six i think this is important for truly knowing my kids and sticking close as a family.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a "tradition" except for holiday meals. We dont' have the "sunday Dinner" tradition here. I do not think many would do that anymore, if poor mom has to work, too! The last thing she would need is to have to put on a huge dinner Sundays, on her precious days off! LOL.
ReplyDeleteWell, one of family favorites with tomatoes is indeed, anything Italian. From Spaghetti and meatballs to Lasagna and so many other variations. We use a LOT of tomatoes in this household for cooking. So many casseroles use tomatoes, too.
I want to make the "Italian Pasta Stir-Fry". but I want to add Italian sausage to it. Or the husband would complain! He's a real meat craver. I love dishes like this. SO easy
ReplyDeleteMy favorite family meal tradition is Pancake Breakfast at Grammy's! My daughter's grandma has everyone over (and I do mean everyone - random friends, long lost relatives welcome too) and we gorge ourselves on Bisquick pancakes topped with fruit, sprinkles, whipped cream, syrup. Bacon, eggs, coffee also plentiful. It's a fun way to start our weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love helping my mom make raviolis. We laugh a lot in the kitchen while making them!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite meal is chicken cacciatorie, we love it.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite recipe is Cabbage Unstuffed, mmmmmmmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteNo meal tradition here and my favorite meal is spaghetti with meatballs (homemade).
ReplyDeleteOn Sundays we have chocolate chip pancakes on the go. We are usually running late for church and my kids loved it the first time we did it and they bragged to everyone about it. We just rolled up the pancake and eat it on the way.
ReplyDeleteMy family has a traditions of spaghetti and meatballs evey time we are at the beach. Its easy and we play games after cleanup!
ReplyDeleteI love it when my fiance' makes his home made spaghetti sauce. It is torture smelling it cook all day long in the crockpot!

ReplyDeleteI grew up in an Italian household, which meant Sunday gravy! My husband and I try to honour that tradition, but with our crazy work schedules and active lives it is not always possible. But when we do have it, we go all out - bread, salad, some sort of green veggie (usually broccoli or green beans) and of course macaroni and sauce (meat for my husband, vegan for me).

ReplyDeleteDuring the early years of internet shopping I discovered a special on Turduckens and decided to change up our typical Thanksgiving Turkey. Everyone ... absolutely everyone inn the family loved that experiment. Now there are several groceries here in NJ where you can purchase authentic New Orlean prepared frozen turduckens; they even give us a credit off purchasing one instead of the typical free turkey you can earn. While you can find fresh turduckens for sale in NJ, the seasonings and stuffings used just aren't the right ones. Anyway this started a tradition of mixing it up at Thanksgiving. We have all the traditional sides, but it might be deconstructed turkey, turducken, game hens or even leg of lamb.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite recipe is Italian style pot roast. You take your pot roast and put it in the crock pot with 2 cans of diced tomatoes, 1 sliced onion and 1 cut up green pepper. You let is slow cook all day and you end up with a really tender roast that falls off your fork. I like to put it over rice or egg noodles.
