Disclosure: My accommodations, concert and certain expenses for the #WGLorettaLynn event are covered by Westgate Resorts. Others are being covered by me. All opinions are my own!
Tom and I travel a lot. Besides the big trips we do in summer and Christmas, we like to take smaller trips throughout the year. If we have conferences, we both piggyback on each other's conference to have a few days in a new place. Other times, we like doing day trips or long weekends.
When we do long weekend trips, we try to find places where we can do as much as we can. Finding travel packages are a priority. That is why Westgate Resorts event packages are great for people who are looking for fun and exciting adventures.
Westgate Events offer travelers a great opportunity to take some time off but to also do something unique while on vacation. The package I had when I visited Gatlinburg was part of a Westgate Event package. When you book one of the packages, you receive a lot for the price. Plus you get the VIP treatment!
Our package included accommodations at the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. We also received tickets to the Loretta Lynn concert that included transportation to and from the event. Plus, the first night we were invited to a VIP party that included dinner, drinks and prizes. The price for this package was $249 per couple! The value is amazing and I know for travelers like ourselves, it is a trip worth taking.
I had a wonderful time. I was able to meet some great bloggers who were also on the trip. The Loretta Lynn concert was amazing and I was thrilled to be able to see such a legend live in concert. We also visited Gatlinburg for the day and it was great. There is so much to do in Gatlinburg. We were fortunate to visit the Ripley's Aquarium, which is a really nice aquarium. We also ate at Dick's Last Resort. Let me tell you that was an experience. The food was great but the servers were the best thing!
The resort is located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains and is a short drive into downtown Gatlinburg. The resort is huge and beautiful. Check in was easy because if you buy a package, you get to check in VIP style. Who doesn't love VIP style? Bellmen were available to take you to your unit and help you with your luggage.
When I went to my room, I actually entered through a common hallway and there are several doors to different rooms. I found out later that it is done this way because if you are traveling with a large party, you can rent all the rooms in that area. The rooms have connecting doors and that makes it ideal if you are traveling with family or friends. The cabin style rooms offer the same connectivity but are housed in smaller cabin like buildings that are more private. With this option, you can have a studio villa. Or if you need more room, you can opt for a one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom, four bedroom or five bedroom villa.
My room was large and had a full kitchen, living room, dining room, balcony, bedroom, and a large bathroom. It also had a huge tub in the room. We received a fruit basket and I was able to store the grapes and strawberries in the fridge. I had a coffee maker in the room, which worked out well because I am not human before my first cup.
The bed was so comfy and there were were two TV's in the room; one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The bathroom had plenty of towels and toiletries. The unit was super clean. There were enough initial supplies for a few days. Our room was far from the main building but the shuttle stop was just outside our building so it was easy to get wherever I needed to go.
When we toured the property, we were shown several different types of rooms. The rooms include condo style rooms and cabin style rooms. The condo rooms are in a large building with several units. The unit I was in was large but they had smaller ones that were super cozy. I could definitely see renting a smaller unit since it is only me and hubby. But all units, regardless of size, are well appointed with all the amenities. And, you get great views of the mountains in any unit.
I loved that my unit had a washer and dryer and the other rooms we looked at did as well. There was always a sleeper sofa so you can have more than 2 people in the room. The resort also offers many activities. There are new activities daily. You can buy admission to the Wild Bear Falls Indoor Water Park. It has waterfalls, a lazy river and lots of fun activities for the kids. You can visit the Serenity Spa. I didn't go but some of my fellow bloggers got massages and loved them! There are playgrounds, a game room, fitness center, 2 pools and outdoor grills throughout the resort.
There is a restaurant, Smokehouse Grill, on site and it was pretty good! You can also get food delivered to your room. There is a bar and ice cream shop on-site as well. A 24 hour convenience store in the main building offers lots of food and drinks, plus other items you might need. They also have souvenirs and crafts.
Best of all, downtown Gatlinburg is minutes away and Pigeon Forge is only about 25 minutes away. We took a bus to watch Loretta Lynn and it was an easy drive. You can also visit surrounding areas like Cades Cove and other outdoor sites. The resort also offers a trolley service into town.
I am so glad I was able to travel to the Westgate Resorts Smoky Mountain Resort and Spa. I am definitely going to try and get hubby to go back with me because I know he would love it. And I am going to look for any cool upcoming Westgate Events package. These packages are not just for the owners of the Westgate Resorts properties. These are open to everyone! And let me tell you that if you like to travel, you need to check them out. The prices are so great. Plus, there are different types of packages available. You can go to a concert, a racing event, cruises and other great options.
Since we are moving to Wilmington soon, I am excited because there is a Westgate Resort in Myrtle Beach that is only about an hour away. After staying at the Westgate Resorts Smoky Mountain Resort, I want to visit other Westgate Resorts because I was so impressed.
If you are looking for a great getaway that includes great accommodations, VIP treatment, tickets to a fun event for a great price, check out the Westgate Events site. If you want to learn more about vacation ownership visit the Westgate Resorts.
