I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I am an Ambassador for Discover Boating this summer! That is so exciting because we love boating. I have loved boating since I was a little girl. When I was little my parents used to take us camping in Baja California. We lived in Los Angeles so it was a short drive to go to Ensenada and Sam Felipe Beach. While we were there, my dad used to rent a little boat and we would go out into the ocean and fish.
I always remember how rickety these boats were but it was always fun to go boating with my dad. If we caught any fish, we would bring it back in and my mom would fry it up over a campfire. Camping in Mexico was one of my favorite things in the world.
As I grew older, we stopped boating. Every so often, a friend would suggest we go. When we visited Costa Rica, we would rent a boat at the hotel we stayed at. It is always so much fun to be out in the water. Whether we fish or go swimming, boating is always a part of my life.
I am lucky my hubby loves boating as well. When we went to Ireland, we hired a boat. We went to Colorado and stayed at a lake house and went boating. In Vermont, we did the same thing. About 2 years ago, we went to Lake Lure and rented a house. Of course, we had to also rent a boat and go fishing. We had the best time.
One of the sites I like to visit about boating is DiscoverBoating.com. Discoverboating.com has tons of information for any boater. On the DiscoverBoating.com’s homepage you can find Stories of Discovery videos. These documentary-style videos tell the stories of real boaters like me. Make sure to watch the video with country star, Jake Owen. If you want to see an amazing story, make sure to watch the short film on the site called Good
Run. It is a touching story about a man’s
life journey by boat.
Our move has us inspired to finally start saving for our own boat. We now live near the coast and it is the perfect location to have a boat. It might be a while before we save enough but we really want to take advantage of the coast and Cape Fear River. It is the perfect place for boating. In the meantime, we will have to rent a boat when we want to go out. Luckily, DiscoverBoating.com has great tips for renting or chartering boats.
If you are a boater, head over to the Discover Boating Facebook. You will some a lot of useful information and be able to hear from other boaters. If you love boating, like I do, then you definitely need to check out the website as well.
Follow DiscoverBoating on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest as well.

I love boating, just don't get to do it much, mostly if someone else has a boat, would be great to have own boat, but here it is a lot of cost and maintenance.
ReplyDeleteI like boating a lot! I do not really like to boat if there is fishing involved because I am not a fisherman. But my sister has a nice boat and I go out on it every year! It is so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad just bought a nice "gently used" mid-size pontoon boat for fishing at the river. I grew up on boats and am so glad that he got this one! He just got back from a 4 day trip at Wateree. Do you know that place? Love it! Hope to go with dad soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I hope your able to get your own boat soon. The pictures of you on the boat are great.
