Nestlé Sustainable Chocolate for Halloween!

A few weeks ago, I learned that chocolate might be going away. I panicked. What would the world be without chocolate?? A nightmare.

It's still not going to happen soon but in the past 20 years, demand for chocolate has doubled, while the supply of cocoa beans has remained stagnant. Tough economic conditions, poor social conditions for farmers and lower-yielding crops have put the future of cocoa, and chocolate at risk.

Luckily since 2009, Nestlé has been finding ways to sustainably source the cocoa it uses in many of your favorite chocolate products through its Nestlé Cocoa Plan. Sustainability is all about working toward a bright future and making sure chocolate is around for a long time.

Here are some chocolate facts that are interesting:

I am glad that Nestlé is thinking forward and trying to save chocolate. This Halloween, think about buying chocolates that are sustainable. There are different ways to tell which chocolates to buy. Look for the following logos.

Remember that sustainable crops are good for all of us. And chocolate is good as well. So this Halloween look for the sustainable labels and keep that in mind when buying your treats! I know my treat bowl will be filled with sustainable chocolates this year!

  1. You're right, a world without chocolate would be sad! Nice to hear that Nestle is looking for ways to have a sustainable product. I will look for these labels next time I buy it. Thanks for the information.

  2. Love Nestle Crunch! Never thought about this.

  3. This is great, sustainable products are the way to go, especially when it comes to chocolate. I didn't know you could find these and will be looking for them more often.
