I was able to interview Chef Annie Sibonney, Cooking Network star and Spanish cuisine expert on all things entertaining and olives, for my blog. Chef Sibonney tells us what dishes are great with olives. She also gives us some quick and easy recipes!! Here is her interview!
I want to thank Chef Sibonney for joining us here at The Art of Random Willynillyness! I LOVE olives and try to use them in a lot of dishes. My arroz con pollo is not complete with green olives stuffed with pimentos. And, one of my favorite new vegetarian recipes is Pasta with olives. Her ideas will help me with my next party. I know every party I have always includes Olives from Spain!
Olives Facts:
* Spain is the world leader in production and export of table olives – supplying more than 155 million lbs. into the U.S
* Olives from Spain are naturally sugar-free and contain monounsaturated fats, which can improve cholesterol levels and reduce heart attack/stroke risk
* 95% of stuffed pimiento olives consumed by Americans come from Spain
* During harvest in September and October, olives are picked one by one to avoid damaging the fruit.
* Spain’s sunny weather, temperate winters and rich, fertile soil are idyllic for growing the perfect olive
Olives are part of my cooking and they should be part of yours as well! They are delicious and versatile! I have a wonderful giveaway courtesy of Olives From Spain as well!! One lucky winner will receive an Olives from Spain gift pack that includes: an olive serving dish, Olives from Spain branded toothpicks, tote bag, apron and coasters.
