Adjusting according to time change and keep the kids bedtime the same. My kids still seem messed up for about week with darkness to school in the morning, etc.
My tip is to keep writing now to your reps to END this stupid time change nonsense. It serves NO purpose today. It's cruel. I'm dragging... the kids are crabby.. take too long to adjust to this. There is no real advantage to it. Time to END it.
I try to control the environment and block out sound and light. I noticed while putting my granddaughter on the bus this morning that its dark now so we have to have another safety talk about traffic.
My kids arent affected by it. They are typically very early risers & in bed by 8pm every night on a regular basis. For kids who are, I would suggest room darkening blinds or curtains, a nightly ritual (warm milk, a warm bath, book, etc) to get them sleepy.
I don't have any tips it's hard enough for me being a night owl that I end up tiring myself out until I finally pass out mega early and then I'll get back on schedule LOL
I think it is best to gradually get adjusted to daylight savings a week ahead of time by going to bed 5-10 minutes earlier or later each night for a week to make up that hour.

ReplyDeleteFor kids, I usually vary the sleep time by half hour for the first couple of nights.
ReplyDeleteMy tip is to have a routine and stick with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I'd try to get my kids to sleep about fifteen minutes early for a few nights just to help them adjust to a new sleep pattern.

We try and adjust our schedule 15 minutes or so each night leading up to the time change, so by the day we are a little better adjusted.

ReplyDeleteMy tip is to ease into the time change over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights about 20 minutes a day. That way it is not an hour change all at once.

ReplyDeleteWe start putting them to bed earlier/later each night a few weeks ahead of time.
ReplyDeleteLet the kids sleep a little longer tomorrow and start the bedtime routine so they can ease into the time shift.
ReplyDeleteNo not really, I pretty much just do the same as every other night. lol.

ReplyDeleteTry to adjust to things slowly before and afterwards which is easier said than done - it snuck up on us this year!
ReplyDeleteI have everyone go to bed five minutes early for a couple of weeks ahead of time
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the routine we get them in. They know either way when bed time is. Of course it's a little bit of a struggle some nights 😉

ReplyDeleteTry to get to bed a little earlier to make up for the lost hour.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are grown up now, but we just started them to bed a little earlier each night for a few days before the time change.
ReplyDeleteRoutine is key. Sticking to that is important.

ReplyDeletePrepare the day before. It's easier to tolerate 1/2 hour at a time.
ReplyDeleteJust have plenty of coffee on hand!! It is killing me this time.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to the positive things- it's sunny when you get up in the morning!
ReplyDeleteWe usually just ease into the time change by slowing changing our bed times. Brittney House
ReplyDeleteWe don't really need to adjust its like if nothing changed.
ReplyDeleteThankfully we haven't had any problems!!
ReplyDeleteThe best way to deal with Daylight Savings Time is the realization that time is meaningless.
ReplyDeleteStick to the same routine and they'll follow along
