This Earth Day CARE TO RECYCLE® and Make a Difference! #CareToRecycle #ad

This post is part of the CARE TO RECYCLE® 2015 program by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. and The Motherhood, who compensated me for my time. As always, opinions, experiences and photos shared here are all my own.

Did you know that four out of five American adults aren't recycling their personal health and beauty products? I didn't. And I have to admit that I usually don't. I try to be earth friendly but sometimes I fall short.

With Earth Day right around the corner, this is a great time to take a look at your recycling habits and try to make a difference. A great way to start is looking around your house and finding new ways to recycle everyday products like empty shampoo and lotion bottles. If you want more ideas, head over to Care to Recycle! Here you will find some awesome crafts that you can do with your kids using regular bathroom items.

Look at these great ideas! I never would have thought to use shampoo bottles for gardening or as a cute brush holder. My favorite craft is using the bottle for storing office supplies! How clever is that? I know I can surely use this in my home office! I am going to start recycling my bottles. One of my idea is to use an Aveeno body wash bottle to hold my kitchen sponge! I think that would work perfectly!

I would love to hear your ideas on how to recycle shampoo and lotion bottles. Here is another clever idea of turning a floss container into a sewing kit! Now I am obsessed with finding new ways of recycling! This is also a great way to get your kids involved and aware of Earth Day!

If you want to get more information about recycling in the bathroom, join me, The Motherhood and the Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies’ CARE TO RECYCLE® program Twitter Chat on Wednesday, April 22 (Earth Day) at noon ET.

During the chat, you will get some great info on fun and easy ways to teach your kids the importance of recycling beyond the kitchen and into the bathroom. Come share your tips as well! Follow the #CareToRecycle hashtag to join the conversation. Make sure to RSVP because you can win one of 5 great prizes.

Just correctly answer the trivia questions tweeted by @TMChatHost. Four (4) winners will receive one (1) prize pack of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies health and beauty products. One (1) winner will receive one (1) partner prize pack including a $100 gift card to onetwine.com, courtesy of Recyclebank, and a family pack of t-shirts made from recycled content, courtesy of Keep America Beautiful.

I hope you will join us on Earth Day for the #CaretoRecycle Twitter Chat. And if you have any great DIY ideas on how you can recycle bathroom products, let me know in the comments!!

  2. I have never thought about recycling my beauty and health products like this, but I am willing to try and find some ways to use the containers at home. I think taking a shampoo bottle and making a toothbrush holder would be a good idea!
