We came home Friday to find that someone had broken into our house and robbed us.
It sucked because besides the fact that someone was in our house looking through our things, they took our laptops which had so much of our life.
They took our 60 inch Sony TV, my laptop, my hubby's laptop, his ipad, my camera, some cash and our money jar. They also took a comforter probably to wrap the TV. We are still looking around to see what else. We really don't have any real valuable things in the house. I don;t have jewelry and we don't have any expensive stuff. The most expensive thing was probably the TV and that was a few years old.
The most valuable things taken were our laptops because that is where we store our files and photos and everything else. It makes me mad to think that I have lost years of writings and my personal files. Tom lost all his financial info and other things. We forget to back up our stuff so I know I lost a few months of files. Also, it sucks to think people have access to your personal stuff.
Luckily, they did not find my tablet so I was able to go online last night and change all our important passwords. I doubt we will ever see our laptops again and that makes me sad but oh well, life goes on.
Now we have to go buy new laptops. I am not sure if Tom is getting an iPad but that might have to be his Christmas gift this year. I have to get a laptop sooner than later because of my blogging. The TV can wait for now. Luckily, they left us one in the guest room.

OMG, big hugs! I was once robbed TWICE within 4 months (the 2nd time was less than a month after I'd finally replaced the first stolen laptop!) - it's AWFUL! Beyond losing the stuff, the feeling of violation is just horrible. So sorry this happened to you!
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm so sorry Carolyn!! That is horrible! I hope and pray they find your stuff ASAP!! XO
ReplyDeleteWere any photos posted on public websites like Instagram? Also, consider taking any files you've saved on flash drives to a computer expert- they could even be able to track down where your stolen computers are located through the tracking numbers.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing- SOMEONE you know ( a disgruntled neighbor or ex-employee) could be involved.
How awful! I'm sorry this happened to you.
ReplyDeleteOh, no--how awful! I know that sense of violation, and it's hard to get over. Sounds like you're dealing with it, though. Sucks about the laptops. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHow horrible. I am so sorry this happened. Hopefully they catch the lowlifes.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. This is nasty stuff. Don't Ipads, laptops have that chip in them to trace where they are at? People are mean. Do you have the TV serial #, might put a lookout at pawn shops. If it's registered you can get the serial # that way. They usually go close to home to sell stuff, drugs probably. No one has any pride anymore. They might come back since they know your layout, buy a hidden camera.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry...that is horrible. I hope they find the person who took your stuff.
ReplyDeleteomg that is awful!!! My family was robbed when i was little and that still haunts me to this day.
ReplyDeleteThat is terrible and I am so sorry. My son's car was broken into last week while he was parked downtown where he goes to school. He also had personal items in his car but luckily he had his laptop with him in class which he just bought. I hope they find who did it.
ReplyDeleteWow, so sorry to hear this. :(
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry that this happened to you! What a violation. I pray that they are caught and that they aren't able to get into anything important on your computer.
ReplyDeleteHow awful this is ! I am so sorry this happened to you ! I hope they find the culprit and ypu can get your stuff back . I would suggest you call any pawn shops in your area asking if these things have been brought in .
ReplyDeleteSorry that happened to you. At least, you weren't home. That would be so scary. Charlotte W.
ReplyDeleteThat's horrible and such a violation. I hope you have good insurance so you can replace everything without having to spend too much (although I know you can't replace the pictures and personal stuff). I feel for you, I really do and I'm sorry it happened to you.
ReplyDeleteso sorry for your family Carolyn. I can feel your pain & insecurity since this happened to me right after a Christmas, where they took valuables & all the xmas gifts. hope you get back things or are compensated and they catch who did it.
ReplyDeleteSorry about this Carolyn! I can totally relate because we experienced this a few years ago. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHow horrible. so sorry to hear that happened to you. I really hope they catch the person that did it.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that truely sucks! We have had robberies recently in our subdivision and the next one, pretty much taking same things, TVs, tablets, and laptops. Thiefs are the scum of earth. They love to take things from small family homes, the big rich houses have way too much security systems. What sucks is, it's so much harder for us to rebuy laptops, tablets, tv's than the higher end homes.
ReplyDeleteOMG that is horrible! I am so sorry!

That's terrible. It really feels like a violation when someone invades your house like that. I had that happen back when I was younger and didn't have much for them to take. It was teenagers that the police finally caught.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope they catch who did it. Some people have no morals.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry this happened to you...at least everyone is safe.
ReplyDeleteThat is so horrible!!! Sorry that happened to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of this, and that you lost your personal files on your laptops. I think all electronic devices should have GPS tracking connected to our phones to be able to find stolen property.
